Health and wellness is a personal journey for each and every one of us. My journey, has been one that through my experiences of life’s many up’s and seems like numerous downs, I have learned lessons that have brought me to a point in my life to see how numerous life factors can affect ones health and mental wellness.
In my youth, through my early adulthood, I was a ballet dancer, which when my career abruptly ended, left me with a passion to compete. Since then, I have continued to be a high intense athlete my entire life thus far which my desire is for that to never fade! But, as an athlete I struggled with self-image and suffered with an eating disorder that led to self -doubt, horrible mind games, and destructive behavior to my physical and mental wellness. Eating disorder, is a life long journey with yourself, but, through time I have learned to love myself for who I am.
I am also a survivor of domestic abuse, a single mother of two absolutely amazing young adults, a survivor of three pulmonary embolisms with 8 weeks in the hospital to save my life, a risk taker of life in which I packed everything up I owned and knew and moved half way across the country by myself not knowing a soul, survived an humongous ordeal with a company that caused two knee surgeries in one year (including one of them being a total knee replacement), and seizing the opportunity to start my own entrepreneurial businesses.
I could crumble, people would say “rightfully so”, but what would that accomplish for myself and what examples would I be setting for my children? No, I have always chosen optimism as my choice of comeback.....it has always seemed like a fire in my belly to show those who didn’t believe that I would prove them wrong every time - although at times it was pure fight to just survive for myself and foremost for my children. In my thoughts, there was no other alternative available other than to persevere through whatever storms was amidst.
It has been through so many of these life experiences, that, I have absolutely learned the journey of being on a better and more productive path of health and wellness....my hope and goal is to touch one person at a time in hopes of helping them stop in their tracks and evaluate and/or finally decide to make that change in their life for the better.....I will continue through my podcast, public speaking, support groups, and learn-shops reach out to educate on the choices of better health eating, life style, exercise, stress & burnout, goals, being in control of your life changes, self worth as a woman; can all have an affect on our health and wellness...... I hope to reach you! “There are goals, then there are goals we each have, imagine what we could accomplish if we just go out of our own way?!”
Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Miner Juday.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I want to help you feel amazing. Health and wellness is a personal journey for each and every one of us. This journey, which is always one filled with many ups and what can sometimes feel like numerous downs, can affect your mental health and wellness. Together, we can learn how to reorient and stay on the path of our journey, no matter how perilous it may seem.
In my youth and through my early adulthood, I was a ballet dancer and it was my whole world. When the day came that I was no longer able to dance, I was left with an empty space and I struggled to find a way to fill that void. I could have allowed myself to crumble. Believe me, there were times that I wanted to. My friends and family would have probably understood, but what would that accomplish for myself? What examples would I be setting for my children? That’s not who I want to be. No, I have always chosen optimism as my way to come back, and you can too. Together, we can learn to stay afloat no matter what storms are amidst.
It is by reexamining our life experiences that I can absolutely teach you the journey of being on a better and more productive path of health and wellness. My hope is that by speaking out, putting my voice out into the world, that I can help someone be where they want to be, even if it is just one person at a time. If I can give you the courage to stop in your tracks and discover the courage to finally make that change in your life for the better, then I know I’ve made the world a better place for my children. Please, join me in my podcast, public speaking, support groups, and learn-shops. Let me help to educate you on the choices of better health eating, lifestyle, exercise, dealing with your stress, and just being in control of your life. All of these can have an effect on your health and wellness. I hope to talk to you. Imagine what we could all accomplish if we just got out of our own way?!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Adversities have played a role in my adult life that has created, provided, and made me demonstrate that I, as a woman and single mom that no matter how deep the despair or crisis I can pick myself up and wipe the dirt off and take on the mission at hand.
I survived a marriage of domestic abuse who fell to his demons of alcoholism and pain killers. Spent over 20 years as a single mom with no family, absent parent, or support in my perseverance of a traveling career and being both the mom and dad of being present of both of my children’s education & activities. The struggle of not being happy in my personal career, but, not having the opportunity to go out on my own ventures due to needing to provide a stable environment for my family.
I am a three-year survivor of (3) pulmonary embolisms at once requiring an 8-week stay in the hospital.
It was at this moment that I had over 20 years of adversity experience to meet me at the door and realize that it was time to follow my heart and passion. Two months after getting out of the hospital, I had my children successfully tucked away in colleges and I packed up and moved across the country from Michigan to Arizona not knowing a sole.
Within these last three years, I have dived into my passion for wanting to help others see what they can achieve by getting out of their own way! I started the journey in the healthcare industry as a director of home health & hospice, volunteering for the Alzheimer’s Association in educating families around the Valley, and getting certified in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. I have within the last year and a half that I have now developed my own company, started my own health & wellness podcast, workshops, public speaking opportunities, events, and support groups to help others to get out of their own way and bring hope and health back into their journey. If I can help one person avoid or provide a short cut in their journey of a better version of themselves, I have accomplished my mission.
Wholistic Living, Health & Wellness – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As the owner/founder of Wholistic Living, Health & Wellness, I take great pride in empowering others with guidance and resources to take full charge and power to change and/or create the lifestyle in all aspects of their lives.
My mission is to make sure to empower others to realize they have the power to help themselves. I have developed numerous avenues for both women and men to find a resource we provide that works best for them to thrive and develop.
Many of the other companies I evaluated while developing my own; I found that many focus only on certain areas of development. Here at Wholistic Living, Health & Wellness, we focus on the whole spectrum of empowering each person; when a person is struggling or facing life decisions many different aspects need to be looked at and evaluated all at the same time. We are about the whole you!!!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is about creating a life knowing I can be part of helping you and others to empower yourself. And, in the process, provide the freedom to spend time with my family and friends.
As I continue my podcast and workshops and I receive such amazing feedback – in thanking me for touching on certain subjects or bringing on guests that has provided resources that they truly needed. What better feeling knowing that today was the day that I touched on an area that helped them where they were struggling!!!
